Professor David McNeill, a philosopher and scholar of the history of European philosophy, now working as an independent researcher and writer and formerly served as the Robert Aird Chair of Humanities at Deep Springs College, discusses the longtermism, effective altruism, and the conceptual and ethical shortcoming in our current debate about Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality.

Professor David Gunkel, Distinguished Teaching Professor in the Department of Communication at Northern Illinois University and the founding co-editor of the “International Journal of Žižek Studies” shares his thoughts on Artificial Intelligence and his critique on how the latest emerging technologies in the field, such as GPT, ChatGPT, Bard, and DALL-E. Professor Gunkel is the author of over 80 scholarly articles and has published 12 books, including, “Of Remixology: Ethics and Aesthetics After Remix” (MIT Press, 2016), “Robot Rights” (MIT Press 2018) and “An Introduction to Communication and Artificial Intelligence” (Polity 2019).
